A letter before Mayday : In responses to migrant workers

Departing from a sense of concern for me, when a few months ago I was visiting at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to the UAE, I had met with many Indonesian women workers are accommodated in the embassy shelter. Concerned, they live in the embassy shelter without education and without knowledge which they are mostly children, assets and components for the nation.  Therefore, in order to welcome the day “National Book 2011″ I intend to garner support for their books through a network of facebook. and I go to the youth of the nation wherever located, especially in Indonesia.

IndonesiaArab, the two countries is like to be a dichotomy for the area of Human Resources especially in the field of employment of the ‘pocket’ luck of their life there. Indonesian society if given the commandment to remember the region his own consciousness to one sense: Indonesia is an exporter of labor to the oil-rich country with a culture of Arab monarchies like peninsula UAE.

As the sole understanding that this medium-ized, people seemed to understand and ‘nerimo’ (surrender) so only if the reading of ‘text’ on the Indonesia-Arab relations is defined only in the field of employment supervisor course, was only associated with the hajj pilgrimage affairs because the Mecca-Maddinah, these two holy cities near are in the arab territories.

Nothing more than that I guess. But, it turns out the relationship these two countries not only engage in employment only (which makes the income of foreign exchange and input labeling image of the ‘heroes of foreign exchange’ for individuals / groups in general are struggling in this economic region), there is a diplomatic mission, mission, culture, or not more than just political affairs in order to meet artificial quotas existence of ‘hegemony’ of a country, and other complexities.

Newspapers, television, and the Indonesian national mass media were at all times just preach about the workers that in fact the majority of Kartini oppressed, become victims of violence by employers. Violence in any variant is the smallest thing that can not be tolerated.

Violence can be a psychological domination of superiority towards other individuals, colonization in other forms. Violence against Indonesian Manpower, the majority located in sector ‘workers’ such as helplessly as the right to life to get more value, were often pawned without collateral commensurate with the work portion of maximum limit they have given.

Many cases which states that the economic motive is the main factor is a migrant worker. As a result all means lawful. Sometimes they even have sold their future in the Arab country without knowing the skills and capabilities at all.

The study of psychological motives, economic motives, or cultural motives when they commit violence against Indonesian migrant workers could be a long discussion also interesting. Vice versa when the subject of study on migrant workers’ labor is sourced from the workers themselves.

On the other hand Indonesia is a country with a rich background (Human/natural resources) I think the study of the symptoms of Indonesian migrant workers who are in Arabic adds an important point: why’d option must be set on a distant land when it is actually in the fields and the ancestral lands of Indonesia can get a decent right guaranteed living state. Ideally such.

Government is responsible when the issue of employment regulation in favor of humanism, non-pro-capitalist. With all the apparatus of government is obliged to serve the time a citizen of Indonesia, without exception.

Communities are entitled to social security, cultural, economic, and others who do not take sides on all elements of society with equality.

Indonesian, in this case the Indonesian workforce is an asset to the nation’s future, a role not only as an element of foreign exchange earner but the buffer guard national security.

What form that can be done? No matter how small. It can be a movement of consciousness, so that anyone can be enlightened and literate of the reality and ultimate truth which has been veiled or hidden.

Form of positive activity is one of them through books. As we know the books in the country into an expensive item that belongs only to certain social strata, even the dialectic of history had just become the property of scholars red plate in favor of the ruling entity rather than on truth-honesty. Sadly more books to ashes in the hands of the state apparatus such as prosecutors when facts and reality have never dissected at all.

I think, through the book-raising through social networks and real network will have meaning for citizens of Indonesia in Arabic or wherever. Forms planting movement awareness through media such as books will increase the percentage likelihood that a migrant worker or citizen of any filed in Arabic and to become an individual with information and fresh surroundings.

As for targeting the Indonesian workers in arabic, I think the supply of books with the material field of work which they had been involved with would be very synergistic. This needs to be concerned with how far the research also showed the sector statistics field of work so that workers can be drawn from this temporary generalizations about the material and the supply of books that are useful not only for the empowerment of the individual but the individual consciousness into a whole.

Form of movement for workers sense reading I think it is very positive. Anyone funding individuals, groups and institutions can be invited to a role as well. Stay working on a mature concept with various calculations both conceptually and technically.

Take a sneak preview to the hilarious blog you’ve ever seen

This site is interesting, unique, creative, and sometimes strange because it presents a variety of things that are often not the usual. Such as body art tattoo, well, art to tattoo the body with special ink, but the eyelids are a medium. Or coverage of World Biggest Indoor Theme Park Trans Studio in Makassar-Indonesia. Or even hooked up list as lamebook.com presents. I think this is one unique blog quite entertaining.
